FORENSIC ASSESSMENT
Most shoplifters seek treatment after they have been arrested for theft crimes and are referred by the Courts, defense attorneys or probation departments. For those shoplifters who are stealing in response to emotional problems, a forensic psychological assessment utilizes records review, clinical interviews, psychological testing, and interviews with significant others when appropriate, to provide a comprehensive report and testimony to assist the Courts in adjudicating the case and reaching a disposition.
